Leeds United Hat-tricks

This is a record of every hat-trick scored in competitive matches by Leeds United in the club's history. John Charles holds the record for the most club hat-tricks registering 11 between 1952 and 1957.

Eugene O'Doherty became the first Leeds player to score a competitive hat-trick after netting a treble against Boothtown in September 1920. Jack Harrison was the last Leeds player to score a hat-trick, scoring three goals in a 2-3 victory against West Ham at the London Stadium on January 16th 2022.
 
Gordon Hodgson remains the only Leeds player to have scored 5 goals in a single game against Leicester City in an 8-2 win at Elland Road in October 1938. Ross McCormack is the last Leeds player to score four goals in a single competitive fixture in a 4-2 victory at Charlton in November 2013.

John Charles remains the last Leeds player to score hat-tricks in consecutive first team appearances in August 1953. Leeds registered eight hat-tricks during the 1953/54 season which remains a club record for a single season. John Charles holds the club record for most hat-tricks in a single season with five in the 1953/54 season. Tom Jennings scored hat-tricks in three consecutive top flight matches in October 1926.

Peter Lorimer (Jan 1966 v Bury) and Tommy Wright (Jan 1985 v Notts County) remain the only two occasions that Leeds players under the age of 20 have scored hat-tricks for the club. Brian Deane remains Leeds' oldest hat-trick scorer when he scored four goals against Queens Park Rangers aged 36 years and 287 days in November 2004. Gordon Strachan is next on the list with a treble against Blackburn aged 36 years, 60 days in April 1993.

Phil Masinga became the first Leeds player to score a hat-trick as a substitute and the only player to score a treble in extra-time in January 1995. Jermaine Beckford remains the only Leeds player to score hat-tricks in the league, FA Cup and League Cup in a single season (2008/09). Luciano Becchio remains the last Leeds player to score a hat-trick as a substitute against Bristol City in November 2010. 
 
Mark Viduka remains the only Leeds player to have scored four goals in a single Premier League game when he scored all four goals in a famous 4-3 victory over Liverpool in November 2000. Samuel Saiz was the last Leeds player to score a hat-trick on his Leeds debut in a 4-1 League Cup victory over Port Vale in August 2017. Leeds have scored more competitive hat-tricks against Leicester City than any other single opponent faced (7).

Ross McCormack remains the last Leeds United player to score a hat-trick in a league game at Elland Road when he netted three goals against Huddersfield Town in a 5-1 victory in February 2014.
