This page is dedicated to Leeds United's complete record in the League Cup. The competition was founded in 1960 and Leeds' first ever League Cup fixture played out with a goalless draw with Blackpool at Elland Road on September 28 1960 which required a replay at Bloomfield Road.

The club's best performance in the competition came under Don Revie when the club won it's first major honour in 1968 after beating Arsenal 1-0 in the final at Wembley. Leeds remain one of just 23 teams to have won the League Cup in the history of the competition. Leeds finished runners-up once under Howard Wilkinson in 1995/96 following a 0-3 defeat to Aston Villa in the final at Wembley.

Six players have scored hat-tricks for Leeds in the League Cup: John McCole, Peter Lorimer, Robbie Keane, Jermaine Beckford, Samuel Saiz and Kemar Roofe. John McCole was the first Leeds player to score a hat-trick in a League Cup fixture in a 4-1 win against Brentford at Elland Road in September 1961. He scored four goals that day and remains the only player to achieve that feat in a single League Cup fixture.

Kemar Roofe was the last Leeds player to score a hat-trick in the League Cup in a 5-1 win over Newport County in August 2017. Eight Leeds players have scored on their competitive debuts for Leeds in the League Cup: Rod Belfitt, David Norris, Luke Varney, Scott Wootton, Tyler Denton, Samuel Saiz, Caleb Ekuban and Eddie Nketiah.

Leeds' biggest in the competition came against Leicester City when David O'Leary's side sealed a 0-6 victory at Filbert Street which included a hat-trick for Robbie Keane. The club's heaviest defeats in the competition have both been 7-0 away defeats against West Ham in November 1966 and Arsenal in September 1979.

Six Leeds players have received red cards in the League Cup in the history of the competition: Jimmy Hasselbaink, Lucas Radebe, Gylfi Einarsson, Gaetano Berardi, Luke Murphy and Lewis Cook.
